Hi, my name is Shelby Weiss-Kaufmann and I'm creating this page to help my neighbor and friend; Amber post the sudden loss of her husband Derek. This is even more personal to me as I also lost a spouse and was left a widow with three children in Feb 2010. It is unimaginable.

Derek and Amber have been a wonderful asset to my neighborhood as well as to Indianapolis as committed community members. Derek, 37 worked as a Publication Strategy and Execution Lead at Eli Lilly and Company in addition to being a very hands-on and present Father to his three children; Ivy (8) and twins; Amos and Lilah (5). Derek could be seen almost every morning walking his children to the bus stop -more than likely in flip flops no matter the weather, joggers, t shirt sans jacket. Just a big loveable goofball, always ready with a joke and a smile even at the crack of dawn! Amber, currently a stay-at-home Mom to their three small children will need time to regroup and figure out the family’s new normal and how it will all work now as a single mom of three. We all know how expensive life is and if you can donate anything to help my friend and neighbor out to make this transition a little less stressful financially, I would appreciate it immensely.
