On Thursday, November 5th, 2026, the Kortuem family lost their home to an electrical fire. It started while the family was away: Emma at work, the kids at school, and Keegan out of town. The fire spread quickly, and the entire house was lost, along with all their possessions, family heirlooms, daily essentials, and more. Most tragically, they also lost a beloved pup, Luna.

If you know Emma, Keegan, Westley and Parker, you know the love, support, and kindness they bring to their community.

The home was owned by Keegan's mother, Heather, who is also reeling from this unimaginable loss.

Emma is an active, passionate, and dedicated Samish tribal member, language and culture learner, creator and maker, Indigenous burner, and outdoor enthusiast. Keegan is a dedicated fixer and problem solver, with a huge heart for those around him. Both are two of the most dedicated and loving parents you could know.

This family spends their days lifting others up. Now it's our turn to do the same.

Please donate if you're able, and share this to help the family rebuild after this unbelievable tragedy.
