Mohamed Kediye a beloved Father of 6 a husband, an uncle, a son, a brother and core member of our community has passed due to senseless gun violence. On the evening of Sunday September 11, Mohamed was working in downtown Seattle driving Lyft . He was completing his last ride for the night so that he may go home to his children. He parked on the side of the road at Amazon headquarters to pick up his last customer. And moments before he started his ride, a vehicle pulled up along side his car and ended his life. When it comes to horrifying life altering situations likes this you can’t help but wonder and question as to why someone would be so evil to commit such a heinous crime to an innocent human being. We all want to know the reason, we all want to question the people or person behind this. We all want answers that we may never receive. He has now returned to his creator Allah The All-Knowing. All We can do is put our trust and faith in Allah swt. We plan but Allah swt is the best of planners.

Mohamed was the most humble human. A hard working father who had love bigger than the ocean for his beloved children. Mohamed was a father just like yours and mine, who started his day with his intention to provide a better life for his family. The fact that he will not be coming home tonight, he will not get to see his children grow up. And he will not be able to give the beautiful life he planned for them, breaks the heart into millions of pieces. He did not deserve this, no one does. His kids are in complete and utter disbelief, the community is in disbelief. Everyone who knew Mohamed knew how much he loved his beloved family and children. He was the greatest father and provider. He was full of love, compassion, and honor. He did everything right by them and may the memory of his love and light live on through them. May Allah swt have mercy on his soul. He leaves behind his family of 7. His wife Filsan and his 6 children.

We ask to anyone reading this, if you can try to help during this time of need in donating to funeral and charity costs.

He worked so hard in providing for his family and now that he’s gone, the family will be without their support system. They need help transitioning and trying to pick up the pieces to maneuver through life without him.

Inshallah if we can all come together and help them out it would be a great help in lifting some weight off their shoulders. Anything helps. May you be rewarded for your efforts.

Sadaqah Jariyah is a long-term act of generosity that earns Allah (SWT) continued gratitude. When a person passes away, all of their acts that would give them good or bad deeds cease, with the exception of three, according to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): (1) a kid who prays for them, (2) helpful knowledge, and (3) continuing act of charity.

And with the funds raised we wish to help establish a continuous act of charity on behalf of the beloved father Mohamed Kediye.

Dua:

We pray to Allah (SWT) to pardon Mohamed Kediye and raise his status among the righteous. We pray Allah (SWT) forgives him and bestows mercy upon him and send him on the road of the righteous who have gone before us. We ask the Lord of the worlds to enlarge and illuminate his grave. “Oh Allah accept him into Paradise as his eternal home, and spare him the torments of the grave. Oh Allah, give his loved ones patience and give them the strength and Iman to endure this traumatic loss. May you replace their pain with peace and replace their suffering with remembrance of his love for them and bring happiness upon them.” Ameen
