Donate to help set up Military Mental Health hub in Tidworth

Hi my name is Lizzie partner to a serving soldier and mum to a little lad, I am raising funds to start a charity to create a hub to promote proper mental health wellbeing for soldiers in the Wiltshire area. Especially within Tidworth and Perham Down.

It will not be new news to a lot of people the number of our own soldiers who are suffering from mental health issues. It is far too often that we are seeing post and pleas from family or friends to locate an individual or even worse informing us of the devastating loss of a life. This is not fair, or right. We live in a society where mental health should be a priority. Not to feel that they only have one resort.

My family friends and I have had a personal loss within the last 18 months and hope and plan to try to help other soldiers in future.

The aim is to create a hub, safe space that will be accessible to current serving personnel as well as veterans. Providing a separate place outside of the barracks that they will be welcome. Regardless of rank, age or sex. There will be no financial requirement (no subscription or payment) to access this. We will try to encourage an environment that everyone will feel safe to raise any concerns within their job or personal life. Judgement free. We ourselves are not professionals by any means, but we are currently working to team up with other local businesses and professionals to have a full web at everyone's disposal. Budgeting, local amenities, food etc.

We want to be a place that parents (single parent, co-parents, together parenting) can bring your children, even if you are running low on funds to do anything, we will still help with making lasting memories. You will not be alone.

We will work to set up a place for you sit and chat, have a drink of your choice, have a rant if you need to. Or just sit and swipe through TikTok. Sometimes just company is what we all need.

A change of environment and knowing you don't need to go and spend 70 quid down the local.

Young and new soldiers who don't know the area and do not have access to transportation, we are trying to find a premises that will be within a 20 minute walk of both Tidworth and Perham Down Barracks.

We encourage everyone to come and talk with us if you are worried or concerned about anything, even if it is about a friend or a colleague. We are not ticking boxes or marking anyone's names against their record, we just want everyone to have sounding board and a chance to get the help they rightly deserve.

Hopefully very soon we will have a phoneline, email account and media pages set up, this will be monitored all day and will be checked periodically through the night where if there are any concerns we can hopefully help ASAP.

I am trying to raise funds for this, we need an initial amount raised to secure a premises, furniture etc. Once we are up and running, we will begin to start to have events where everyone is welcome, sporting events, music events, frequent parties for the little ones in our lives. And we are totally open to any and all suggestions!
