My name is Lynzie Hill. I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my grandpa, to my family though, he is known as Pepa. I gave him that nickname when I was old enough to talk. I was his first grandbaby, and we have been extremely close my entire life. My pepa has always been like a second father to me. Growing up, he's attended almost all of me and my siblings' events, including father daughter dances. I never expected this to change. In 2015, my grandpa got his very first cancer diagnosis. He was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. Doctors began treatment but ultimately told him he would have less than a year. My pepa fought for almost 9 years before he got a call saying his cancer was gone. After many chemo treatments, removing a kidney, and endless doctors' appointments- he was declared a miracle.

Fast forward to the end of 2024- My pepa began feeling some pain and went back to his doctor. His doctor gave him devastating news, his kidney cancer has returned- along with tumors on his lungs & polyps in his stomach. This was incredibly hard news not only for my pepa- but for our entire family. These past few months my pepa went from being able to run around with his grandkids to now not being able to get out of bed on his own. My mema has devoted all of her time to caring for my pepa full time. With daily doctors' appointments and his cancer rapidly progressing- this has been a very trying time for us all. He has been in and out of the hospital constantly. This is not only emotionally hard on my grandparents- but it is also a financially stressful time.
