Donate to Remodel an Orphanage in Guatemala
Donation protected
Hi, my name is (Jenna) Ariela. My siblings and I lived for 5 years. There were about 45 kids in our orphanage. Ask me about the only tree in our orphanage courtyard, the lime tree.
Adoption changed the projection of my life. My parents gave me the opportunity to build a beautiful life and I'm forever grateful. I have made it my mission to give to as many kids as possible, an opportunity at a beautiful life.
Why remodel an orphanage? Well, a day after our wedding, my husband, Justin and I embarked on an epic 3-month honeymoon trip to Guatemala. Quickly fell in love with the country. A country my siblings and I had known very little about from within our orphanage walls. During this honeymoon trip, we volunteered and worked with children living on the streets of Guatemala and visited a couple of orphanages in Guatemala. Over the next few years, we took several self-funded trips to Guatemala. We worked hard in the States and gave most of our money away to different organizations we saw firsthand doing great work in Guatemala.
Today, Justin and I have been married for 9 years. We also work together and run a residential remodelling company in Minnesota. We started the Lime Tree Group to blend the skill of remodeling homes for our clients in Minnesota with our passion to impact the lives of children living in high-risk areas of Guatemala. Together, we hope to inspire a group of people to renovate every privately owned orphanage in Guatemala.
This fundraiser is for the very first orphanage remodels we will be doing in Guatemala. There are 27 kids and youth with special needs calling this orphanage home. There is a lot of need at this orphanage. We will focus on remodeling the girls' bathroom, girl's bedroom, removing mold from different rooms, new flooring getting some new furniture and enclosing in a physical therapy space. The current outdoor space gets muddy during the rainy season and the kids have nowhere to play or exercise.
I remember the difference it made in my life when people visited me in the orphanage where I grew up. I remember how special it was to receive gifts, to be seen, to have freshly colored walls and have my home, my whole world be beautiful.
- These donations will go to remodeling the orphanage, paying a local contractor, cost of materials and cost of furniture or extra donations for the orphanage.
