I'm Berat, Polat's volunteer mentor.

Tonight, I bring to you a story not solely about need but about an extraordinary spirit and unity. Under the nurturing wing of his beloved companion, Ali Acil, Polat embarked on a journey that showcased his unique resilience and ability to bring people together.

His initial kokoreç sale, inspired by Ali’s support, not only met but exceeded our community's expectations. Despite facing significant personal challenges, including illiteracy, Polat utilized technology in innovative ways to promote his event, proving his special needs come with equally special abilities.

This success wasn't just a personal achievement for Polat; it was a beacon for our community, inspiring others to follow their dreams with the same passion and perseverance. Even knowing the proceeds would fall short of covering his urgent dental surgery costs, Polat remained committed to keeping his offerings affordable, embodying the essence of inclusivity.With Polat’s consent, we're launching this donation campaign as an extension of the joy and unity he's fostered. This initiative is special because it carries Polat's indomitable spirit, aiming to unite us over the love of good food and warm conversations, without imposing any obligation—only if you feel a genuine pull to contribute.

Tonight, as we gear up for Polat’s second kokoreç event, we're reminded of the Turkish ethos of "Sanki Yedim" – acting as if one has partaken in the meal, yet choosing to support others instead.

This philosophy underpins our invitation to you: join us at the Turkish Cultural Centre, 335 Michael Cowpland Drive, at 8 PM to experience this unique tradition firsthand.

Ben, Berat. Topluluğumuzun sevgiyle bağrına bastığı buyuk şef Polat'ın gönüllü mentoruyum. Ailesinin de onayiyle, hem Polat'ın ihtiyaci olan dis ameliyati icin gereken paranin toplanabilmesi hem de onun bu guzel basari hikayesinin tarihe not dusulmesi adina bu kampanyayı paylasiyorum.

Polat, tüm dişlerini etkileyen ve 10.000 doları aşan maliyetli bir diş operasyonuna ihtiyaç duyuyor.Ne yazık ki, çeşitli kaynaklardan mali destek arayışımız umduğumuz sonuçları vermedi. Kanada'da annesi ve 2 kardesiyle birlikte yaşayan Polat, babasının maddi ve manevi desteğinden de mahrum kalmis durumda. Ama sonmeyen inanci ve etrafina nese sacan pozitif enerjisiyle o, bu sikintilarin ne onu ne de sevenlerini uzmesine asla musade etmiyor.Yakin zamanda bize profesyonellere tas cikartan performansiyle mukemmel bir Kokorec soleni yasatti. Ve simdi dis masraflarini bir nebze olsun karsilamak ve sizin gosterdiginiz yogun ilgi ve sevginize mukabelede bulunmak icin ikincisini yapiyor..Tahmin edebileceginiz gibi bu geceden elde edecegi gelirin tedavi masraflarina yaklasmasi mumkun degil.Ama ben Ali Amcama soz verdim herkesin bu lezzete doymasi lazim parasi yok diye kimsenin bu lezetten mahrum kalmamasi lazim diyerek bizim fiyatlari arttirma talebimizi kabul etmedi.Ancak sadece gonululuk esasina tabi olacak sekilde katilmasi kosuluyla bu kampanyayi yapmamiza musade etti.
