Yesterday morning, our family’s lives changed in an instant. At approximately 4:30 a.m., my grandma and friends were involved in a serious accident on Highway 41 near Mecca Lane after a loose horse entered the roadway. According to the report from California Highway Patrol, their vehicle struck the horse and then lost control, crashing into my family’s vehicle.

We are beyond grateful that they survived, but this accident has left our family struggling emotionally, physically, and financially. My grandma now needs extra support getting to and from medical appointments, and my mom has lost reliable transportation she depended on to get to work and care for our family.
