Hi, my name is Amy and I am currently a BA Policing and Investigations student at Liverpool John Moores University. I was lucky enough to participate in sporting clubs growing up and have always had a great interest in sports and would love to give those disadvantaged the opportunity to experiences sports the same way I did. I have always wanted to take part in a volunteering program because I truly feel giving back is the most important thing a person can do, and hope my time with the children who have so little, leaves a lasting happy and positive impact. As a result I have decided to take part in a program in South Africa for 2 weeks in May.

I have been presented with the incredible opportunity to volunteer for a program dedicated to empowering communities by promoting sports as a tool for education, health, and social change, with the initiative that aims to make a positive impact through sports development in Africa.

Sports have a unique ability to transcend barriers and unite people. They foster teamwork, discipline, and resilience—qualities that are essential for personal and community growth. In many parts of Africa, access to sports facilities, coaching, and resources is limited. By volunteering in this program, I will help to develop sports programs that encourage youth participation, improve physical health, and build essential life skills.

During my time in Africa, I will be working with local organizations to design and implement sports programs that cater to children and young adults. My goal is not only to teach sports skills but also to instill confidence and inspire a sense of community. Through sports, I hope to contribute to the holistic development of individuals, helping them realize their potential both on and off the field.

To participate in this meaningful endeavor, I need to raise funds to cover my travel and program expenses, and looking to book flight ASAP due to the rapid increase in flight prices.
