Donate to Help Lives in Recovery at Pancake Breakfast

So I am hosting a pancake breakfast in Des Moines, Iowa for Recovery and Sober living. This is the first year of starting this journey as I feel it is extremely important to the families and friends and also to the ones that don’t know exactly how serious drug addiction and alcohol addiction can be and how much it takes a toll on someone’s life. So my goal is to make this a tradition every single year and have anniversary years as well. There are a lot of people out there that look down on people that are struggling with addiction just simply because they don’t understand, which is totally okay, but with this fundraiser, I am looking to change a lot of people's thoughts that don’t understand and also people that do understand. There are a lot of families out there that have lost loved ones due to addiction, and it is heartbreaking. There are a lot of great sober living houses in the area as well as inpatient treatment facilities. My goal is to have a few speakers that have been clean and sober for over 10 years to speak at the fundraiser. I currently have 3 speakers that want to speak and are going to speak. This is a pure donation event that is being hosted, and all proceeds will be used towards people that want to become sober and start living a new way of life and realize that there is way more to life than drinking or drugging. That there is hope at the end of the tunnel for these guys and girls struggling. These funds will help pay their first month's rent, get hygiene, etc., so they can start a new life in recovery and live the clean and sober life and show their family, kids, parents, etc., that they want that new way of living and want to be part of their lives. The pancake breakfast will take place at the beginning of December. I am reaching out to ask for anyone that would be willing to donate to change someone's life that wants to get sober but just can’t afford to get into a sober living house or treatment center.

Everything included at breakfast is as follows:

Pancakes, eggs, scrapple, sausage, bacon, toast with jelly.

Coffee, hot tea, cold tea, orange juice, milk, apple juice.

We are welcoming everybody to the fundraiser, including state/local law enforcement, fire departments, military, parole officers, the public, and all of the sober living houses and treatment centers. We want everybody to come out and get a better understanding of recovery and sober living and understand what these folks go through.

It will be a huge blessing to receive all the donations and know that there are people that care about people going down the wrong path in life and want to see them change for the good.
