Last night, tragedy struck two of our own. Officer Mike Pettee of the Key West Police Department Motors Unit and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Tiffany Rodda lost their home in a devastating house fire. In a matter of moments, everything they worked so hard to build was gone.
Mike and Tiffany jumped out of a window to escape the fire and suffered second-degree burns and were flown to Miami for emergency medical treatment. While they survived, their beloved two dogs tragically did not make it out of the fire.
The emotional and physical toll of this unimaginable loss is overwhelming.
Along with losing their home, they lost all of their belongings, clothing, personal items, and the sense of security every family deserves.
Together, Mike and Tiffany are raising five children. Thankfully, the children were not home at the time of the fire, but they are now facing the heartbreaking reality that everything they knew has changed overnight.
The family urgently needs assistance with clothing, food, temporary housing, medical expenses, and basic necessities as they begin the long road to recovery.
Anyone who knows Mike Pettee knows he is a true local hero and a proud member of the Key West Police Department Motors Unit — always visible in the community, always willing to help, and always answering the call when others need him most.
Tiffany Rodda has dedicated her life to serving and protecting this community as well. Now, they need us.
Please consider donating, sharing this fundraiser, and helping this family rebuild after such a devastating loss. No amount is too small. Every donation will go directly toward helping Mike, Tiffany, and their children recover, heal, and begin again.
Thank you for supporting two people who have spent their lives supporting everyone else.
