Donate to Help Keep BCMOS Adventures Alive!
British Columbia Mobility Opportunities Society (BCMOS) was founded in 1988 in Vancouver, BC, to make outdoor recreation accessible for people with physical disabilities. Each summer, we open up Vancouver’s beautiful trails and waterways through guided hikes, adaptive cycling, and paddling adventures.
But this year, we’re facing an unexpected challenge. After more than 20 years of support, our longstanding funding did not come through. This setback has put our 2025 hiking, paddling, and cycling programs at risk — programs that connect children, youth, adults, and seniors with disabilities to nature, community, and adventure.
We remain committed to providing accessible outdoor adventures for all abilities. With your help, we can overcome this shortfall and ensure these life-changing experiences are available to those who need them most.
Where Your Donation Goes: Funding from this GoFundMe campaign will go directly toward staffing our summer programs:
- Hiking Guides – $21,000
- Cycling Instructor – $11,000
- Paddling/Kayaking Instructors – $48,000
- TOTAL: $80,000
To fully deliver BCMOS programs this summer, we need to raise $30,000 to cover our funding shortfall.
Your donation will help ensure children aren’t left out, families aren’t left without options, and adults, seniors, and youth continue to access the joy and connection that nature brings.
About BCMOS programs
Our hiking and cycling programs operate out of Pacific Spirit Regional Park, a stunning network of trails and nature spaces in Vancouver. Using the TrailRider — an adapted wheelchair designed for rugged trails — and specialized cycles, we make nature accessible for people of all abilities. Last year alone, we created nearly 200 hiking and cycling opportunities for our community.
Our Paddling Centre is based in False Creek, near Science World, providing a sheltered, accessible environment for paddling and kayaking. With specially adapted kayaks, wheelchair paddleboards, and a lift for easy transfers, our paddling program opens up the water to everyone. We deliver over 500 paddling excursions each summer, including Kids’ Days for young adventurers.
We need your support to keep these experiences alive. Donate today to help us re-imagine what is possible for people with disabilities.
