Hi, my name is Kait. I am a mom of two and just recently had my second son 2 months ago.
When I went on maternity leave, I was told that I should be receiving $640 weekly, but because of "other benefits" I would be receiving during that period (short-term disability), they would be reducing that weekly amount to $295 weekly. The short-term disability I would also be receiving weekly was $206, so a grand total of $510 (before taxes) a week for 6 weeks.
I pay $1550 a month in rent, on top of every utility like sewage, trash, water, etc., plus childcare for my oldest. Also, the day after I gave birth to my second son, I needed to get new tires; that was $400 off the rip. I have since returned to work on August 18th with only $100 to my name and not getting paid until September 5th. I have my first paycheck to put towards rent, but I also have to pay for my son's school, groceries, my phone for work, and gas for work. My landlord said next time we are late, we will be evicted. I am really trying to get back on track but am just stuck behind.
