Donate to help Jessica and Mitch at this difficult time

My name is Jeff McLain - I am Mitch Baird's brother-in-law and I decided to start this fund to help Jessica and Mitch at this very hard time for them. There is no specificity to these funds - I just want them to get as much help as they can and they can choose how it can benefit them. Since you know them, you know the importance of this assistance. Give as much as you feel you can and donating anonymously is totally ok too. Every little amount adds up and helps.

GoFundMe stair-steps the amounts - I originally pegged this at $20,000 and the algorithm starts the goal lower than that at first and then will go up as each milestone is crossed to the 20k goal. If it goes over, even better. Let's see what we can gather for them!

In the interest of keeping their personal situation private for now, I ask please do not share this link to social media (no Facebook, or IG or Snap etc) - let's just share it via email with those that know and love Jessica and Mitch and we can cross that bridge of socials later, ok? This was a specific request from Mitch so I want to honor this. In fact, there is the chance Jessica might not be completely pleased about a fundraiser, but dammit, we gotta all help in any way we can. Please don't post to socials. If it is determined that crowdfunding from the general public is needed, that is something that can be done later.

*I wanted to add the update - I spoke with my accountant and she said that GoFundMe gifts are non-taxable (for Mitch and Jess's side) in nearly all situations. We wanted to be sure that any major gift would not adversely affect their eligibilities so I checked on my side. I'll instruct them to do the same on their side when the time comes.
