Fundraising for The Jackson Family

This GoFundMe has been set up to provide financial assistance as a comfort to the Jackson family as Jeff unexpectedly passed away. Rachel lost her devoted husband while Vann (8), Josie (5) and Frankie (3) lost their loving father. If you know them, you pretty much know how involved this little family was in the Smyrna community.

I know many of you are looking to help in some way so I'm setting this up to provide a financial cushion of comfort for Rachel to use as needed in the immediate future. As many of us know, kids aren't cheap, and this is a good way to provide a bit of assistance to give Rachel some help as the dust settles.

I have been blessed to know the Jackson family since Vann was in preschool at SFUMC. Now Vann and Josie are beloved students at King Springs Elementary while Frankie is at the church prek. Rachel works part time yet still has time for the kids' extracurriculars as well as volunteering for the Parent's Club at the preschool.

The girls love to play on the playground at the baseball field while Vann is an absolute slugger with the Smyrna Little League. You can sometimes find them at the West Smyrna Swim and Tennis Club letting their kids splash around during the hot summer. The Jackson kids sing in the Children's Choir at SFUMC. They have frequented El Monterrey for years. Josie finished her first season of softball last year at Rhyne Park and she is currently enjoying her first year of Girl Scouts.

Vann recently discovered his love for Basketball. Jeff took him to his first NBA game a few weeks ago and he is hungry for all things Steph Curry. The kids LOVE art like their father, and they're quite talented. Josie and Frankie just love playdoh and crafts. It's rare to find Josie without a clipboard and some markers.

These funds will go to whatever Rachel decides they need. If you know Rachel, you know that she thinks of herself last (if at all) and the children's needs and happiness always have and will be her first priority.

As she navigates the abrupt shift to become a single parent, I think donating is a helpful way to allow her time and energy to grieve and focus on the kids as she figures things out. It will pay for food, bills, dogfood for their 2 big recue dogs, activities for the kids, summer camps, and whatever else she and the kids need.
