Hi my name is Isla and I have been given an amazing opportunity to travel to Borneo with Camp International in 2027 with my school. This expedition will last 4 weeks and I will be working with local communities to help improve the environment and life chances of young people. I will be helping to build facilities such as schools and supporting access to fresh, clean water by improving drainage systems.

I will also help to build school kitchens, where for some children this provides their only meal of the day. Other activities include building toilet blocks, bridges, and taking part in beach clean-ups. Part of the trip also includes taking part in a deforestation programme, helping to restore areas affected by commercial deforestation by supporting communities to grow crops and protect their environment.

I am especially passionate and ambitious about helping to protect endangered wildlife, including orangutans, and making a positive difference to their future. I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity and will be raising all the funds myself.

I will be organising fundraising events at school, as well as taking part in activities. I will also be working with and helping to promote local businesses who kindly support me along the way.
