Hi My name is Ibrahim, a young man from the Gaza Strip. I'm living a reality I never imagined would become my daily life. Since the war began, everything around me has changed, and life is no longer what it used to be. We've lived through long days of fear, deprivation, and waiting, and we're still living through them.
We are a family of nine, and my family and I bear a heavy burden under harsh conditions that are nothing like life itself. We lack the most basic necessities: water is scarce, food is unavailable, electricity is cut off, medical treatment is almost nonexistent, and there's no safe place where we can feel secure. Every day that passes is a new challenge to survive.
I dreamed of completing my studies and building a future where I could support my family and be independent, but the war stopped everything. Schools were destroyed, roads were cut off, and dreams were forcibly postponed. Thinking about tomorrow has become painful instead of motivating.
On top of all that, we're facing a difficult health situation within the family. A member of my family is suffering from a serious illness requiring ongoing medical care and regular surgeries that are unavailable in Gaza. Hospitals here lack the necessary resources, and traveling abroad for treatment has become an unattainable dream due to the closure of the crossings and the exorbitant coordination costs, which are completely beyond our means.
I write these words while trying to cling to hope, despite all the exhaustion and heartbreak. I'm not asking for the impossible, just a chance to survive, to receive treatment, and to live with dignity like everyone else. Any support, no matter how small, can make a real difference in our lives.
If you are unable to donate, sharing my story might reach someone who can help.
Thank you to everyone who has read this, and thank you to every heart that still feels the suffering of Gaza.
Love you from ibrahim
