Henok has been working alongside an international group of translation advisors and church leaders for five years to translate the Bible in to his own people group’s language. He and his wife have been saving money for ten years to buy a condo that has just became available for a limited time. They have saved 40% but need $9,700 to get in and $7,000 more to finish and furnish it. The initial funds need to be raised by 06/09/2023 and all funds by 08/01/2023. If they are not able to buy the condo now, they will not get another chance to be selected in the lottery system and will not be able to afford something else with the money they have saved.
He has been a foundational reason that the translation has been successful. His attention to detail and refusal to accept any translation choice that is not both accurate and beautiful have led to many people in his language community saying that the Bible is clear and understandable.
His monthly salary is barely enough to pay house rent and very basic meals. This is the reality that many face in this African country, as the cost to rent family housing is generally higher than one person's salary. Besides the cost of housing, there is also a shortage of housing. This is why there is a lottery system in the country that selects people to be eligible to buy a condo.
We would love to bless this family with a condo that they can own, which would provide financial stability in a country with very little financial stability.
His American friends and co-workers, Justin and Joelle Goldberg
