My name is Gwendoline A. Bah. I am a mother and grandmother who is here seeking help for my grandchildren. Their mother is addicted to drugs and alcohol. She had her first child at 15, and the second and third thereafter. All three ended up with me since they were babies. The middle child, Kyle, does not know that she is his mom. The youngest, Kendrick, is autistic, and the oldest, Caleb, is turning 17.

I want to adopt them since I don’t see any sign of their mom wanting to go for treatment, which I have encouraged her to do. I started the process, and the lawyer charged me $2,500 to start. I thought it was for all of them, but after 2 weeks, the money was finished. I now found out that because I had told her to file for all 3 of them, the money was exhausted.

I need to adopt them because their mom will come and decide to take them away if I don’t have that security. I need to retain a lawyer who will help me get them. I can’t do this on my own. I have tried. My income is just enough to provide a roof and feed them. They also need a change of wardrobe and a room makeover. All this time, I have been going to Goodwill, which I have nothing against, but as they are growing, I want them to experience going to other stores.
