Donate to help fund the swan rescue volunteers

Hi my name is Helen and my daughter Katie and I are fundraising to help our dedicated swan rescue volunteers, Gill Walker, Louisa Green, Andy Miller and team. We are taking part in the Hackney Half Marathon in May 2024, The London 10k in July 2024 and Flossie Price is joining us for the Vitality 10k in September 2024. The volunteers are on call 365 days a year and keep our swans and water birds safe. The veterinary ambulance covered 31,921 miles in 2022 and the petrol is paid for by the volunteers. They can be called out to rescue swans from London and surrounding areas that are involved in flying accidents, territorial fights, dog attacks and those injured with fishing tackle and hooks. They also rescue from incidents where oil and pollution contaminate the water. Swans and other water birds regularly need transporting to the sanctuary at Shepperton.

Money raised will go to cover the cost of petrol and other consumables needed for this vital rescue work which is needed all year round.
