We are The Music Journal, a community event organizer founded by two Latina women dedicated to using music and culture to bring people together and support important causes.
Our goal is to raise $3,500 to support families in Houston who have been directly affected by ICE raids. These are our neighbors and community members, and we believe no one should have to face separation or detention alone.
We are proud to partner with FIEL Houston, an immigrant-led nonprofit that provides essential resources, advocacy, and support for undocumented families. A portion of the funds raised will go directly to FIEL and the families they serve.
We are hosting a day for our community to come together, connect, and stand in solidarity. A day of music, care, and collective resistance where families are brought together, not separated.
We also want to thank Echoes, who has always supported good causes and generously allowed us to host this event at their establishment.
Event Details:
Date: October 12th
Time: 12 PM – 5 PM
Location: Echoes, Houston
Join us for a vibrant afternoon featuring a Lotería artist showcase, live performances by local artist Different Chris, and dancing to close out the day. This celebration of culture and community is all about raising funds to support families impacted by ICE raids.
If you’re from Houston, please come out, share this event, or donate. Every bit of support helps. Your presence and solidarity make a real difference.
Thank you for standing with us and showing what true community care in Houston looks like.
