Hi, we're Caitlin and Sian, Dan's sisters-in-law, and we never imagined we would be writing something like this.
Our beautiful brother-in-law, Dan, has recently been diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 colorectal cancer at just 37 years old. In what feels like an instant, the life he and our sister Lauren had dreamed of with their beautiful 6 month old daughter, Ava, has been turned upside down. What should be a time filled with joy as they watch Ava grow is now overshadowed by appointments, treatment, and so much uncertainty.
Like so many young people, Dan never imagined this could happen to him. After experiencing symptoms, he sought medical advice but was reassured that everything appeared to be fine. Sadly, further investigations later revealed the devastating diagnosis.
Dan is a loving husband and a wonderful dad to Ava. He absolutely adores her, and the bond they share is so special. With Lauren currently on maternity leave, they should be enjoying this precious chapter together as a young family. Instead, they are facing specialist appointments, treatments, surgeries and everything that comes with Dan's diagnosis, while doing all they can to cherish every moment with their beautiful daughter.
If you know Dan and Lauren, you'll know they are the kind of people who are always there for others. They would never ask for help themselves, which is why we are asking on their behalf.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help ease some of the financial pressure while Dan is going through treatment. It will help with medical expenses, travel, and time away from work, allowing Dan and Lauren to focus on what matters most: being together as a family and supporting Dan through the road ahead.
If you're unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean so much to us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story. Your kindness means more to our family than words can say.
