Hello friends,
For an entire century, (1926 to 2026), the Morningside School of Arts has been the stage for Queensland’s quirkiest clubs, memorable characters and unforgettable social nights. Help us capture its 100‑year story — and keep this community icon alive for the next generation.
The "Mornsie", as we are affectionately calling her, is a simple, but beautiful art deco hall in the heart of the Brisbane suburb of Morningside. With her official opening on the 19th February 1926, our community hall is turning 100 in 2026, and to celebrate the past 100 years , our story capturers have been recording wonderful anecdotes and amazing stories from our community of 4170 and beyond.
As part of celebrating the 100+ year history, stories, people, and creative spirit of the Morningside school of Arts hall, we're creating a beautiful coffee-table book. This book will preserve our local heritage, honour the community that keep the hall alive, and help raise funds for its ongoing restoration and future.
Your generous donation will produce a publication that will capture the heart and history of The Mornsie - through photographs, stories, memories, artwork and the people. Help us preserve a piece of Brisbane history for future generations.
