Hi, I'm Sven and I'm fundraising to help Cindy by allowing me to be her caregiver and not have her placed in a facility. This mother of eight and stepmother of three, grandmother of 32, and now a great-grandmother, has given her life entirely to bringing the love of Christ to her family, her friends, and her community. In addition to impacting the spiritual lives of scores of people personally, Cindy has given us a priest and now has a grandson in the seminary, a legacy of several decades of loving and suffering for Christ.

You may not know this, but Cindy has been battling the advanced stages of primary progressive aphasia, a brain disorder, for the past three years. This form of aphasia is like Alzheimer’s in its progression but affects communication first and memory last. Cindy needs round-the-clock 24/7 care and attention.

Her husband, Sven (that’s me), has been unable to devote much time at all to earning money to support Cindy and himself. Cindy is not comfortable being apart from Sven for an extended period and will become highly agitated and aggressive when upset. Caregiving, coupled with this economy and no financial help from the government for Cindy’s disability, has left us financially bankrupt.
