On September 16th, my best friend Christen and her husband Daniel’s lives changed completely after a terrible car accident.

Christen is currently pregnant with their sweet baby boy, Stetson, and was seriously injured in the accident. She has already had surgery on her left ankle and requires more. Her right knee was shattered, and she also has three stress fractures in her spine, a cracked rib, and a bubble of air in her lung that the doctors are watching.

Through all of this, baby Stetson has been doing absolutely amazing. He has been checked on multiple times, and we are so thankful that he has been completely cleared and is looking great. ❤️ Having him doing so well has been such a huge blessing through all of this.

My niece Merideth was also in the accident, and by the grace of God, she was able to come home from the hospital with no injuries. We are incredibly thankful she is okay.

Christen has a long road ahead of her. She will be in a wheelchair for at least the next 3 months and will have a lot of appointments, physical therapy, and recovery ahead of her all while continuing her pregnancy and preparing for Stetson’s arrival.

Before the accident, Christen and Daniel shared one vehicle. Now they are trying to figure out how to manage everything without transportation while Christen is unable to walk and needs so much help.

Once she is able to come home, they will also need to make their house wheelchair accessible, including building a ramp and making some changes so she can safely get around. They will need childcare help during her many doctor appointments, physical therapy, and follow ups as she recovers.

We’re starting this fundraiser to help take some of the financial stress off of their family while they focus on Christen healing and keeping her and Stetson healthy. The money will help with transportation, the ramp and wheelchair accessibility, childcare during appointments and therapy, medical and recovery expenses, and the everyday costs that come with everything they’re facing right now.
