Donate to help the children of Emma's Place

Tax deductible
I'm raising money to benefit Emma's Place -Staten Island Grief Center , and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

Emma's Place is Staten Island’s only not-for-profit, non-denominational Mental Health/Bereavement Counseling and Grief Educational Program committed to supporting grieving children and families. Located on Staten Island, Emma’s Place provides community-based support services throughout the five boroughs of NYC, offering individuals access and the support they need to discover hope and healing through a much needed Mental Health and grief support services niche. In addition, it provides school-based group and individual counseling throughout NYC public and private schools, presently on Staten Island.

As a member of the Zen Community of Staten Island, I am dedicated to raising funds for this worthy cause through the completion of a "Mala" for Emma's Place. Mala beads are a strand of beads traditionally used as a tool for spiritual practice in Zen meditation. I am asking for donations to symbolically represent the 19 beads of a mala:

  • 18 donations of $108 each to represent the "small beads" of the mala
  • 1 donation of $1,080 to represent the "large bead" of the mala

The number 108 is sacred in the Zen tradition, representing the 108 Gates of Dharma Illumination, or possible paths to Enlightenment. While my ultimate goal is the completion of this mala, I am grateful for contributions of any amount to support Emma's Place

Thank you,

Paul
