Carly and her sister Nikki have been helping to support their mom and dad since September 2024, when their mom's health began declining rapidly. Carly and Nikki's mom is now in hospice. The family has been splitting the sky-high cost of in-home care, which is not covered by insurance.

Nikki and her family have relocated to TX to help with their mom's care, and Carly has been traveling to TX every two weeks while working/teaching and preparing for her and David's first baby, due mid-May.

This last weekend in early February 2025, Carly and Nikki's dad was in an accident. He is in the hospital in critical condition.
