Donate to help an older lady who was scammed

I am asking help for my Mom who was scammed out of $85,000 by scammers on WhatsApp that she met on Words with Friends. These people (whoever they are - He, She, Them) GROOM innocent people, mostly women, by sending poems, emojis, prayers, music, etc. This went on with my mom for over 8 months before they started asking her to borrow money and promised to pay her back ASAP. Since she is a trusting 72 year old women, married to my dad for almost 50 years, she thought there was no harm in lending a good online friend money because they were going to pay her back. This person/people convinced her to send Apple cards and use the Bitcoin ATM because they needed money for various things. They were LIARS!!

Time kept going on and they told her that she needed to send more money so they could ship what they owed her through "customs". This kept dragging on and she became a WRECK over it because she started realizing she was being SCAMMED and she couldn't tell anyone. She felt so ashamed, embarrassed, and distraught, and she didn't want to live anymore because she knew she hurt our family by her actions personally and monetarily. She couldn't eat or sleep and she ruined the retirement that my Dad worked so hard for over his career.

She tried to commit Suicide on December 14, 2022. Thankfully she was not successful because the Police found her before it was too late. God didn't want her yet! She was sent to a Trauma Unit in Trenton, NJ. She later transferred to a Psychiatric Hospital in Wyckoff, NJ. Once released from the hospital, she went to the Hampton Behavioral Center in Westampton, NJ. She now routinely sees a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist. We have police and hospital records to prove all the torment we went through because of the attempt.

After being retired for 10 years, she is now working tirelessly at a local convenience store to repay all this debt. She is physically, emotionally and mentally devastated. She cries every day.

She is dedicated to advocate for others who may become victims of these scammers. She wants to share her story to expose the actions of these criminal catfish scammers. She is also willing to do speaking engagements so she can help others stay away from these online catfish predators.
