Help Alyssa Reach the Finish Line: Stability for a Mom and Her Kids
Dear Friends,
I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported my friend, Alyssa. Your past generosity helped her secure the apartment that became the foundation for her family’s new start. The photo accompanying this post is of the two of us on the day we finally moved her in—a milestone we reached because of your kindness.
Today, I’m reaching out with an update. Alyssa is now on her own, and she has bravely chosen to prioritize the safety and stability of her two children by separating from her husband. His behavior had become increasingly erratic and unsafe, and Alyssa wisely realized that she needed to create a new, stable path for her children’s well-being. She is currently working toward a divorce as she manages the transition into life as a single head of household. While this was a difficult and necessary decision, it has left her shouldering the full cost of their home and daily expenses alone.
Despite these challenges, Alyssa is nothing short of remarkable. She has earned her driver’s license, keeps her 8-year-old thriving in school while caring for her toddler, and is working as a pastry chef. **Most importantly, she has enrolled in a CNA training program and is on track to earn her license by June.**
This is her bridge to a career with stable hours and a better future for her family. However, the recent loss of her childcare provider has made the next two months incredibly tight.
I am asking for your help to get her across the finish line. I am hoping to raise a and additional $1500 toward her $1800 CNA training (a direct investment in her permanent career) and to help bridge the gap for rent and daily necessities while she finishes her program.
Alyssa is one of the most hardworking, clear-headed people I know. Every goal she sets, she accomplishes. If you are in a position to help with a contribution toward her tuition and short-term expenses, it would mean the world to her and her children.
Thank you for continuing to be a part of Alyssa’s village.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth
