Anyone who knows Alarah knows she's a beautiful, fun, energetic and loving 8-year-old girl. She's a sister to two wonderful big brothers, a daughter to two amazing parents, a grandaughter, a great grandaughter, cousin, niece, and friend to many!

A few weeks ago my brother Matt and his wife Holly got the news no one wants to hear, Alarah was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

She was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, with so many questions to be answered. Her medical team were thankfully able to operate to remove the tumour. While the family received so much love, support and positive thoughts and care from friends and family, unfortunately Alarah’s test results came back with serious news: the tumour was cancerous - a childhood brain and spinal cancer.

Alarah will now undergo treatment, meaning she will go back to hospital in Brisbane to undergo an initial six weeks of radiation treatment. From there it is unknown how long this journey will go for. At the moment it’s day by day, step by step. It's something no one wants their child or family to go through.

For at least the rest of this year, possibly much longer, Alarah will need full time care either at home or in hospital. This means that Matt and Holly will take it in turns going to work, or at times both be off work. Their work stops, but the costs for a family of five don’t.

I thought I'd post this out there for any help financially for this beautiful family as they struggle through such a hard time.

Any amount will help, or even just sharing her story around. I thank you all in advance.

Alarah is such a strong, brave little girl and we know she can get through this.
