Help Ehab and Abeer Rebuild Their Lives

Hi all. My name is Luka and I am sponsoring this fundraiser for Abeer and her beautiful family who desperately need our help. I am the chair of the Open University (UK) student group for Palestine and I can vouch for this fundraiser. I know there are many fundraisers out there, but I hope you will be able to give here too. Many thanks!
Please read their story below:

“My name is Ehab, and I am a father of four children: Tala, Ziyad, Mohammad, and Talia.

I never imagined I would write these words—to tell the story of losing everything and to ask for help in rebuilding our life. But war leaves us no choice. The destruction caused by the ongoing bombardment has taken everything from us, leaving only painful memories and ruins behind.

On October 7, everything changed.
I had a home that I built with my own hands—a place I spent five years constructing so my family could have a warm and safe shelter. But in a single moment, it was reduced to rubble.
I stood there, staring at the ruins, trying to process the catastrophe, but my tears blurred my vision—and there was no time to grieve.

We didn’t just lose our home—I also lost my businesses, which were our only source of income.

For years, I worked hard to provide a dignified life for my children and to build a future full of hope. But in one instant, all of my dreams collapsed.

We didn’t leave our home by choice. we fled under fire, surrounded by danger from every direction. There was no time to think, no time to pack. We took only a few basic belongings and left everything else behind. We left our children’s toys, their schoolbooks, our memories.

What we mourn the most is our family photo album: the pictures of our children at every stage of their lives—their first steps, their first days of school, the little moments that war stole from us without mercy.

That was the beginning of our journey of displacement—a journey into the unknown.
We moved from one area to another: from Shuja’iyya to the Al-Nasr neighborhood, then to Nuseirat, and finally to Rafah. Each place felt like it might be the end, but we forced ourselves to keep going.

The bombings followed us everywhere we went. The sound of explosions echoed all around us, and it felt like death was chasing us at every step.

My children lived through the worst days of their lives.
They woke up to the sound of warplanes, went to sleep to the sound of airstrikes, and were afraid to even breathe too loudly.
Every moment felt like it could be their last. Every day was a new test of survival.

My eldest daughter, Tala, is only 14 years old—and she has never known a life without war.
Since the day she was born, all she has heard are the sounds of rockets and air raids.
Can you imagine that a child her age has already lived through seven wars?

Today, I’m not asking for much—just a chance.
I want to rebuild the life that was taken from us"

How the funds will be spent and how you plan to get them to the beneficiary:
The funds will be used to provide urgent essentials for my children and me, such as food, rent, baby formula, diapers, and medical needs.
The donations will help us survive this difficult time and hopefully support our reunification eventually.

I will receive the funds directly through a trusted contact who can withdraw the money on my behalf, as I don’t have access to a local bank account.

(The money will be collected by myself and transferred via a trusted source.)
