This is a fundraiser to support the family of a brother, James Romany, father of 4, who has very unexpectedly passed away. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Romany on June 9, 2025, at the age of 46. Jimmy passed away with his beloved spouse of ten years Kate (Johnson) by his side.

Loving father to James, Kevin, Lee, and Ivy. He will be deeply missed by his parents Bella and Joe Brlek, his brother Trent, sisters Spencer & Kasey (Evan), and his in-laws Jen and Pete Cruickshank. He was predeceased by his father, Jim Romany.

Jimmy’s greatest accomplishment in life were his four children. He was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. Jimmy gave freely of his time, never hesitating to help anyone in need. He possessed an uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone, and lit up every room he walked into with a big smile. Jimmy had a passion for cooking, gardening, tattoos and listening to his records. Family and friends will remember his wit, humour, warmth and affection, which he passed on to all of his kids.

Jimmy devoted over 20 years of service as a Sheet Metal Worker, and was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Union Local 537. He will be fondly remembered by his many Union friends and colleagues that he met over the years.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at both West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Juravinski Hospital for the care and compassion they provided.
