Glenn Smiths Liver Transplant
Donation protected
Hi there,
I’m making this gofundme page for my amazing dad, Glenn Smith. My dad is currently fighting liver disease at UPMC, in Pittsburgh. He is in need of a liver transplant and I am a match. In addition to significant medical bills that have already accumulated, there will be more related to the surgery as well as the lengthy recovery period. Without this transplant, the doctors give my dad a few months to live.
My dads story:
From New Jersey, my dad grew up an ice hockey star. He played at Seton Hall Prep, and at Villanova University. This year he was inducted into the New Jersey High school ice hockey hall of fame. His dreams were cut short due to his health conditions. Before my sisters and I were born he had ulcerative colitis which resulted in removal of his large intestine. Other medical conditions affected the bile ducts to the liver. He has been on the deceased liver transplant list for years. Last November, he had surgery where there was cancer found in his gallbladder. As a result, he was removed from the deceased transplant list and told he had to wait for a transplant. Fast forward, he came to UPMC in Pittsburgh to see if a live donor liver transplant could be done.
My dad is an incredible husband, loving father, caring son, brother and great friend. He has been suffering from this for so long and we want nothing more for him to be healthy and live his life again. My sisters, Mackenzie, Reagan, Gabrielle and I are coming together to ask loved ones, friends, and kind strangers for your help to save our dad.
Thank you so much in advance ❤️
Please keep Glenn in your prayers
