Donate to Give a Vendor a Safe Break ✊

As we all know our community is struggling right now. I have been going around and helping vendors and families as much as I possible can.

I met a fruit vendor in the 90280 area yesterday and have been worried about his safety. I will not disclose any details on him for obvious reasons but my goal is to send him home for the next week or two. We had a scare today and thought he was taken. I was angry at myself wondering if I could’ve done more. I searched for him and knew I couldn’t just leave with out helping. I gave him a bit of cash that I had left and bought fruit.. I told him I’ll be back and hopefully with some donations so he can go home… he has two other co workers in different areas but I told him I’d like to try to help him first. As of right now we’ve given him a total of $190 for a day so he was able to leave early. He has two kids. A 10 and 12 year old. Hearing his story made me feel so helpless. Starting a go fund me for him is the least I can do. Even if you can’t donate please share. I would also like to help out with groceries for his family if anyone has a resource for the south central area please let me know! Friday June 20 update: he’s selling in different areas but he is safe.
