Hills Radio has broadcast on-air to the Adelaide Hills and Mt Barker community since 2014. This proactive, not for profit charity community-focussed radio station, was not granted a licence to continue broadcasting to the community in September 2020. The Australian Community and Media Authority (ACMA) has advised Hills Radio that there is no frequency available for the station. Hills Radio is actively lobbying local, state and federal governments and the ACMA to find another frequency. The Mt Barker population is expanding at a phenomenal rate, and a community station dedicated to engaging the community is paramount. Hills Radio is seeking your much-needed support to assist fund a campaign and keep the station on the air. Hills Radio is currently operational and streaming via www.hillsradio.com.au and engaging the collaborative efforts of 70 volunteers who produce over 40 programs each week, including programs, for the print handicapped and 6-daily 3-hour programs focussing on all activity in the Mt Barker and Adelaide Hills regions. Your support will mean the community will continue to have its own community station dedicated to Mt Barker and the Adelaide Hills. Your critical support will also mean Hills Radio will continue to be active at community events as we provide coverage of events with our outside broadcasts live to air.
