Donate to Gabriella's Eagle Project: Sensory Garden
Spende geschützt
My name is Gabriella Trentacoste and I am a Life Scout in Troop 1150 from Sparta, NJ. I am working on my Eagle Project.
In 2018, the Boy Scouts of America expanded its Cub Scout program with Family Scouting, allowing girls to join Cub Scouts. I was so excited to be given such a wonderful opportunity and wore my Webelos uniform proudly. In 2019, I became a Scout and have had many years of fun and amazing experiences with my troop. I love working with kids and am very creative. As I come to the end of my time as a Scout, I wanted to give back to my community in a way that combines the things I enjoy the most.
For my Eagle project, I am going to create a sensory garden/area for the Helen Morgan Elementary School in Sparta, NJ. The side entrance by the band room has an outdoor walking path between different parts of the building that many students frequent. There is a grassy area that runs along the building that has old mulch and weeds growing. I will improve the area by digging up the old dirt, laying new mulch, and creating a sensory garden with various artwork types, such as painted rocks, flowers, bugs, and a bench. This will include a bottle cap wind chime mural and a welcome sign.
The project will give the entire school population a beautiful outdoor space on school grounds. The colorful pieces will add a sense of fun and enjoyment. The location will be a place students and staff can go to relax and re-energize.
