Support our firefighters as they run the Lake Sonoma 100 Miler “Sufferfest.” A $300 donation covers one firefighter’s entry fee, but any amount helps. Proceeds from this charity event benefit the Children of Vineyard Workers’ Scholarship Fund. It’s a win-win: your contribution supports both the dedicated firefighters and the vineyard workers who are the backbone of Sonoma County.

My story:

Working for the US Forest Service as a Ukonom Hotshot on the Six Rivers National Forest was truly transformative. I gained invaluable life skills that have enhanced every facet of my life. The dedication of my colleagues was inspiring, and the memories we created together are unforgettable.

My passion for running began with a 25-mile challenge on my 25th birthday, which unexpectedly turned into a 27-mile feat that left me barely walking for days. Despite the struggle, I soon found myself contemplating a 30-mile run, an endeavor that also tested my limits. Continually seeking new adventures, I am eagerly preparing for a 330-mile route from Humboldt to San Francisco this coming January.

Currently, I am engaged in watershed restoration projects for Save The Redwoods League within Redwood National and State Parks. Our primary focus is on rehabilitating waterways by decommissioning abandoned logging roads and enhancing stream crossings.

I am thrilled to provide firefighters with the opportunity to participate in the Lake Sonoma 100 Mile run at no cost. These individuals sacrifice an immense amount of time and energy, dedicating themselves to protecting our communities and forests throughout the season. They endure days sleeping in the dirt and work tirelessly, surpassing the efforts of most in a lifetime. Offering them a chance to join an event for free, where they can challenge themselves both physically and mentally, is a small gesture of gratitude for their tremendous contributions. I look forward to seeing firefighters from all various agencies come out to Lake Sonoma, by far my favorite place to run, and push themselves through this 100-mile journey.
