********************************
I am Ezra Barbour, a scout in Troop 382. My Eagle Project will be building and installing three outdoor musical instruments on the Discovery Trail at Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church. The Discovery Trail is used by the youth programs at the church such as the preschool, youth group & girl scout troops. By installing musical instruments on the trail, I will be making it a more enjoyable and appealing outdoor space for people to enjoy. The instruments will also foster creativity and encourage kids to express themselves and interact with the natural world around them. Playing a musical instrument can also increase happiness, reduce stress and anxiety, support self-expression, and build physical capabilities. Your donation pays for the materials for my project, making it into a reality.
The three outdoor musical instruments are described below:
- Batonka - 4 large PVC pipes with curved connectors on the bottom where you can slap the end of the tube to produce a sound.
- Marimba - 25 wooden bars of different pitches you strike with a mallet to make sound (you can picture it as a xylophone).
- Chimes - Aluminum pipes of varying lengths you strike with a mallet to make sound.
Thank you!
Ezra Barbour
