My husband, Vlad, is the kindest, devoted, funniest, loving person we know. He is a devoted father to Theodor and a loving husband. Our world was completely shattered just 2 days ago.

​He was rushed to the Sutter Emergency Room in Sacramento after suffering a sudden, debilitating headache. After immediate CT and MRI scans, doctors found a devastating mass: a very large, aggressive 7cm glioma on his brain.

​The medical team has been upfront: this is a severe and fast-moving cancer, likely a highly aggressive Glioblastoma. We've been given a heartbreaking choice:

1. ​High-Risk Surgery: Attempt to remove the tumor, but with a high risk of losing his ability to speak and possibly to hear, and without a guarantee of long-term survival. They particularly mentioned approximately 12-16 months.

​2. Limited Chemotherapy: Slows the progression, but only for a limited time.

​No matter the path, the prognosis is incredibly challenging. We are facing a race against time and a battle to maximize the time he has left with our family.

​Because of the tumor's size and aggressive nature, we cannot simply accept the limited options presented. We need to pursue specialized, world-class expertise immediately.

​We are urgently seeking second opinions and specialized treatment at top academic centers, including UCSF and Stanford, which have deeper expertise and access to cutting-edge clinical trials—our best hope for a different outcome.
