Donate to Esmirna’s Green Card Fund

Hi everyone, my name is Kasey and i am creating this go fund me for my mom, Esmirna. With the horrifying acts of violence happening to immigrants across the United States perpetrated by ICE, we have been fighting for my moms green card. On February 24th at my moms court meeting, they demanded 8,300 Dollars by the 18th of March, on top of the thousands we have already paid. Please share this and donate if you are able.

Read a bit of our story below.

it has been a little over 30 years since my mom was brought to the United States, at the time she was 16 years old and unknowingly pregnant with her first child. When she left Mexico, she did not know that would be the last time she'd see her friends and family. It was not her intention to stay in the US but with no support system and a child to care for, the US became her new home.
Now she has spent the majority of her life in the United States, a lifetime of living in the shadows with the fear of deportation and never seeing her children again being a constant. When we discovered the laws for gaining a green card had changed, my sister and I encouraged her to apply, to quote myself "if not now, then when?"
What they don't tell you about doing it the "right way" is how much it'll cost you. You find out when you're between a rock and a hard place, between deportation and thousands of more dollars.

My mom has since been approved for a greencard and this gofundme has been created to help pay for the final payment of 8,300 dollars, which is something my sister and I cannot afford to cover ourselves. My mom has paid her taxes since she first became employed in 2006 after being a stay at home mom when she arrived in 1997 but since there is not enough significant proof that she was not working from 1997 to 2006, taxes must be paid for those years, that is what this cost is.

growing up as a first generation American has been incredibly hard with the uncertainty that comes with having undocumented parents, i want so badly for my mom to get her green card to give my youngest sister and my mother a more stable existence, one without fear or uncertainty. My mom has always been a hardworking, law abiding woman. she has worked hard to provide and assure my siblings and I live a good life, even when life was not good to her. All i want is for my family to be okay.

Please please consider donating or sharing this page, we have until March 18th. literally anything means the so much to me and my little family.
