Most of y’all already know my story with drugs and alcohol and how open I am about my addiction . Part of recovery is helping others to overcome their addictions too.. yesterday I was asked to go speak to a young man that lost his eyesight at the age of 23 and he’s 42 years old. Now I was of the understanding that I was going to talk to this young man about drugs and I had no idea what, I was going to say cause I knew everything about drugs, but I don’t know anything about being blind . God led me to this man anyway and I went over there not knowing what to expect. I introduced myself to the young man and he asked would I like to go sit on the porch and I said sure and he asked me am I in trouble? I said absolutely not. You just have some loved ones that care about you and are concerned about you so I begin to tell him that I don’t know anything about being blind that I thought I was coming over here to counsel someone on drugs and him began to chat with one another, and like I said, I don’t know anything about being blind so all I could do was share my experience with what Jesus has done for me and as I was giving him my testimony, I told him that I used to mask my insecurities with drugs and alcohol, and told him that I’ve always felt less than not as good as other people, and I always felt ugly and without hesitation, he said “ from what I can see you are ugly” and we both just cracked up laughing and I said OK. You done pulled the gloves off buddy and we hit it off really good. We went to Walmart shopping and I told him I am not going to treat you as a disabled person because I have seen you move all around that house and let me ask you a question do want me treating you any different than I would anybody else and he said absolutely not anyway this young man is struggling with life. He’s living in a home with probably seven other guys. He doesn’t have anybody that visits him or spend any time with him I asked him if he knew Jesus and he said yes, but he doesn’t have anybody to take him to church, so I volunteered to do that but we were speaking. I noticed that he was very good on his Apple iPhone better than me so I asked him how do you know that , I mean how did you learn how to do that and he said he learned from his computer, but his computer is out of date now and he’s falling behind on , all the knowledge that he needs to have he said that his computer was 15 years old and doesn’t take the software of the new latest and greatest laptops and I asked him what would make your life better and he said if I could get a computer that I could use with all the upgrades that would help me tremendously, but I can’t afford it and so I come home after leaving there and I was supposed to be going over there to cheer that young man up but instead I was filled with the Holy Spirit. Just blessing me left and right to be able to join that young man for the day and I got to thinking , I have never done a GoFundMe in my life and I just got to thinking that there’s plenty of people out there that would donate a little bit of money here and there to help this young man get an upgraded laptop that he can communicate with other people ,you have to understand The young man had eyesight until the age of 23 so he knows what it’s like to be someone that has seen everything and also now someone that can’t see anything so I’m gonna put it out there on a GoFundMe to see if we can raise enough money to buy this young man the computer that he needs . I know God will bless each one of us in one way or another when we reach out and help this young man thank everyone in advance you know I love you and this young man just touched my heart big time
