Rob Megna is a dear friend. He and his family have been struggling for the past few years. Rob's mom had to leave her job to take care of his step-father in a wheelchair and Rob with his worsening health conditions. They need our help. Rob has not been able to work. He cannot pay for medical needs, personal needs and anything that can help ease the pain.

Most of you think of Rob and think of the friendly, sweet AMAZING drummer with Uncle Johns Banjo and Soul Box. Both of these bands have brought so much joy to so many of us. Thus, Rob has brought so much joy to so many of us. Well the time has come that Rob needs us to give back to him if we are able.

Rob is diagnosed with CIRS-Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. Rob has gone through this for almost 2 years. He really wants people to understand what this condition is because it is very hard to explain. He feels misunderstood when he tries to tell people what he is going through and they usually dont really get it-some of his symptoms are extreme anxiety and panic, fatigue, brain fog (which makes it hard for him to focus or concentrate -he has trouble speaking sometimes-cannot finish a sentence or put his thoughts into words) memory issues-stabbing back pain-cannot regulate body temperature so hands are like ice blocks while his head and body feel like they are burning up-ringing in his ears-insomnia-abdominal pain-hyper sensitive to light and noise and chemicals-scents and fragrances. Basically this sounds miserable.
Rob has been very quiet about this...We all have missed Rob's presence and his playing drums. Knowing he wasn't feeling well but Im not sure any of us knew how extreme the suffering of him and his family has been.

He also has a gene(HLA DR and HLA DQ-that prevent his body from recognizing and eliminating mold...He has lost most of his personal and sentimental belongings due to mold exposure including all his drum cases.. He has no income and cannot even imagine ever being able to live in his own place or even with roommates. He has managed to get out to a few gigs with the help of his family because this is his passion and his friends are his love and support. He LOVES playing for us and as we have seen in the past will suffer through pain in order to do this.

The current need is mold remediation. The mold remediation in their home is $20,000 plus $1,600 to rent a house for a week while it is being done. They were told by his Dr to get rid of all furniture and replace with vinyl and plastic so they can constantly be sanitized.. This is another expense that this lovely family does not have funds for due to the hardships ongoing in this household.

This is a link which better explains what Rob is experiencing.

Bottom line is Rob has been very ill and no income and no coverage for his medical treatment or mold remediation-totally financially dependent on his mom-any help at all would be greatly appreciated and will help him pay for basic living needs and for additional medical treatment that is not covered.
