Donate to Ease Luz Tanya Silvera's Cancer Journey

Hello, my name is Marcus Silvera and I'm making this GoFundMe on behalf of my wonderful mother, Luz Tanya Silvera. As some of you may know, for the past two years, my mother has been battling brain cancer, specifically Glioblastoma. This has effected her greatly due to it affecting the speech and comprehension part of her brain. I cannot explain how quickly this event changed our lives. She was visiting me in October of 2022 in California, seemingly healthy and full of life, but a month later, tragedy struck when she had a grand mal seizure due to the rapidly growing tumor in her brain. There were virtually no signs that could have allowed us to try and prevent this from happening. She has been through so much these past two years and continues to battle each and every day.

Unfortunately, finances have caught up to our family. I've only recently started to work again and have been trying to help the best that I can but cannot keep up with the financial struggles she has had to face during this time. I was out of work for almost 9 months in 2024 after struggling through the writers' strike that had been going on for the better half of 2023, depleting my own personal savings in the process.

This money is not for me; it is 100% for my mother to be able to pay off the credit card debt she has accumulated these past two years trying to keep up with her bills. No matter what happens moving forward, I want to remove as much stress as I can from her. With that being said, I will soon be taking on all of our household bills in order to contribute to this cause as well.
