Please meet Les Blundon. He is a loving husband, father, uncle, Papa and friend. He is a retired firefighter from Nashua NH with over 35yrs of service. He retired in 2004 and moved to TN in 2017 with his wife Laura. Les is always quick with a funny story or showing you the latest meme he found on his phone. He is always the first to offer to help and would always put his family and friends first. Les and his wife Laura, were always traveling somewhere on their Harley and have traveled on their motorcycle in all 50 states.
Les had a melanoma spot on his face that was taken care of with surgery. He tried to take the drug Keytruda for preventative measures after the melanoma and that caused a cascade of health issues. After taking just 2 doses of the drug he was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, and it sent his body into a tailspin. It caused heart failure and total body weakness. He now has a pacemaker and an irregular beat. In August of 2023, he suffered a major stroke that took his ability to communicate and left him mostly homebound. He had a whole-body scan, and it showed he was completely cancer free in July 2024, however the scan didn't cover the brain area. He had a recent fall and needed an MRI. The recent scan revealed his cancer has now spread to his brain and is very aggressive. The doctors don't have much hope of slowing it down or stopping its progression.
We are hoping this fundraiser can help support Les and his family to make his time left more comfortable and help them navigate thru what lies ahead with this latest diagnosis. A gift of any amount is greatly appreciated and will help support his family. If you are unable to contribute, we ask that you keep the family in your prayers as they deal with this medical tragedy. Please share this with any friend or family that may be able to help.
Les put up a good fight but unfortunately he lost his battle with cancer on October 3, 2024. We are very grateful that he was able to be at home with help from hospice and he was able to spend time with loved ones till the very end. On May 17, 2025 a ceremony and memorial service is being planned at our home in Crossville, TN.
We are now trying to navigate through the tough days without him and dealing with the mountains of medical bills that are pouring in. Again, if you cannot donate please keep our family in your prayers.
