Hi everyone, my name is Julia, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mom, on behalf of my stepdad, Abdin, and family. In July, their entire world shifted. After he began experiencing alarming symptoms, imaging revealed a tumor on his brain. He quickly had to undergo neurosurgery to remove it, and shortly after that, we received the devastating news that the tumor was caused by Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Hearing that he had cancer was something none of us were prepared for. Since then, he has been in and out of hospitals, meeting with specialists, doing treatments, scans, and fighting through an exhausting amount of medical appointments — all while trying to stay strong for my mom and family.

Emotionally, this has been one of the hardest chapters of their lives. And while we’re doing everything we can to support him, the financial burden has become overwhelming especially with the lost income. Even with insurance, the combined cost of neurosurgery, hospital stays, medications, cancer treatments, follow-ups, and ongoing care has become more than my mom and stepdad can handle alone.

My stepdad has always been strong, quiet, and the type of person who never asks for anything. But my mom is carrying so much on her shoulders right now — emotionally, physically, and financially. I’m creating this fundraiser because they need help, and I want to ease even a small part of their stress during this fight.
