Donate to Continue Daniel's Mission for Kids

Donation protected
I am Loren, one of Daniel's sisters. Our family wants to continue my brother's efforts in supporting youth athletic camps and providing resources for kids. However, we cannot access the funds from the original GoFundMe page he created linked here https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-emilios-run-for-kids-mental-health-and-youth-camps . We are still trying to figure that out with GoFundMe but have yet to hear a response. For this reason, a new page has been created. My family and I will allocate the money raised according to my brother's wishes. Anyone who wishes to donate to these causes close to Daniel's heart can do so here. Our family is filled with love and gratitude to everyone who shared stories of my brother and sent cards, kind messages, and flowers. Your support during this challenging time has given us so much comfort. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. As my brother would say, keep dancing.

Hi, my name is Emilio DLT. In 2024, I qualified for the Olympic trials as part of an effort to raise money for the all-special education school I taught at (Almansor Academy) to expand resources and curriculum development for the learners. It was also a way to honor the memory of Javier Mejia (17) and Thomas Kornsweit (16), both students who passed away too soon from gun violence. I came into the 2024 Olympic trials with an Achilles injury and left the Olympic trials with a worse Achilles injury. Since then, I have recovered and am on a journey to qualify for the Olympic trials again to raise funds for youth camps that support and encourage kids to be active. I also want to highlight the importance of caring for your mental health. 70% of the funds will go towards my sponsor, Aztlan Athletics, to help fund youth camps they organize, and 30% will go to the youth of the "El Centro Del Pueblo" community center for athletic camps and resources for kids. As a teen, I struggled with my mental health. A combination of athletics and therapy helped me get better. Through my struggle, I discovered that the brightest light can come from the darkest place. I found my light and want to share it. Hope is all around us.

Keep dancing,

Emilio
