Hi, I'm Chip Jordan, and I'm currently serving on the Board of Trustees at the Cold Spring Area Historical Society (CSAHS). Our entire staff is passionate about preserving our local history through our nonprofit organization. This incredible group of history loving volunteers works tirelessly to protect and share our community's rich heritage, ensuring that future generations understand their roots. We are making major changes to our museum, with the majority of those changes involving the movement of artifacts and collections to a space saving digital format. We currently have local family histories on about 100+ families that reside in our CSAHS area. Each family has a folder that is crammed full of generational history in the form of newspaper articles, magazine clippings, and in some cases family history information that has been handwritten on a piece of paper. Just think of the challenges in keeping this updated and properly organized, not to mention that amount of storage space needed to contain all of this important material.

By donating to this campaign, you'll help support the vital work of the CSAHS, allowing us to move forward with this digital transition. Your considerate donation will be used to purchase the following equipment and associated software:

CZUR digital scanner- this will scan all of the material in our family history folders in an efficient manner; the files will be put on a computer, which will allow us to free up some sorely needed space as we remove the numerous file cabinets that currently hold the paper materials.

Desktop Computer- the computer will be placed in our newly created research room. Museum guests will have access to this computer which will allow them to view their digitized family histories, as well as work on other guided historical research projects.
