Support Lily's Camps International Costa Rica Expedition '26

Hi my name is Lily James and I am fundraising for my four week long Camps International expedition to Costa Rica which involves helping the communities in Costa Rica & conservation work in their essential nature reserves whilst experiencing the South American culture.

Costa Rica is a beautiful country with varied landscape and stunning natural beauty; but 1 in 4 Costa Ricans are living in poverty . The main problem is a lack of social housing, as well as limited school facilities in poorer areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for me because I am able to give back to the community by helping local people to build homes and to work on construction project to build & repair school buildings. This will also give me a chance to meet the local children and families whilst all the while taking in the Costa Rican culture, food and improving my Spanish in time for my upcoming GCSE's.

Costa Rica's land is vast, I will be travelling through the country mainly sleeping in tents and dormitories (hopefully without too many bugs!) Part of my task will be to learn about environmental issues whilst working on projects to help alleviate some of the problems by planting new trees and protecting the wildlife.

While I am there I will be completing my PADI scuba diving qualification in the Guanacaste province. This is going to be an amazing opportunity to learn a new skill & test myself mentally & physically. I am a keen swimmer and aim to complete a swimathon as part of my fundraising plan but this will be my biggest challenge yet.

All I ask is for a small donation (if you can) and to share this on social media in order to help me reach this goal and go on this amazing trip along with Camps International. I will be fundraising in many other ways too in order to help, but if you could donate to me, not only will you be helping bring change to the Costa Rican communities, but will be providing me with a life changing experience.
