This summer one of my peers had the memorable experience of going on a backpack drive in Barahona, Dominican Republic. During this trip, he visited the Church Igesia Cristiana y Misionera Union Primitiva De Abanero.

This Church allows girls who became mothers at very young ages to become professional and productive members of society and teaches them daily activities so they can develop skill sets to best serve themselves, and their families, and teach others.

he is collaborating with my fraternity Delta Upsilon at Iona University to raise money for this cause. ALL proceeds will go towards building supplies to continue building the Church so that these young adults will be sheltered and given opportunities to learn and grow.
