Bob, Bobby, Mr. Bob-dobalina, Uncle Bob, Grampa... no matter how you know our dad, you know one thing above all else: he is one of the kindest men you’ll ever meet.
On January 2, 2026, Bob suffered a severe fall that led to a catastrophic brain injury. Initially, there were signs of zero brain activity. However, in what we can only describe as a miracle- and if you know our dad, you know he’s capable of them- he showed a glimmer of improvement on Saturday evening and squeezed the doctor’s hand. Following an emergency CT scan, he qualified for life-saving brain surgery. He has been fighting for his life ever since.
Right now, we miss his dad jokes. We miss seeing those beautiful blue eyes. Most of all, we miss being able to lean on him for advice during this incredibly trying time. While the road ahead is uncertain, we know his medical expenses will be significant. We want to relieve as much of that financial burden as possible so he can focus entirely on his recovery when he leaves the hospital—and we are full of hope that he will.
This is where we need your help. We are asking you to rally around Bob with your prayers and any financial support you are able to give. Our dad has spent his life selflessly supporting others; now, it’s our turn to support him. Every donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward his ongoing needs as they arise.
We don’t know what the future holds, but we know he is going to fight like hell. That’s just who he is.
In the meantime, please keep praying, sending positive energy, and telling all the dad jokes you can while he is unable to. We know he feels the love.
We love you guys.
With gratitude,
His daughters, Alicia Moore, Bethany Camacho, and Abby Fay Smith
